Escape to Rockhill, a traditional picturesque
farm and guesthouse, run by the same family since 1954, with self catering cottage and
bungalow. Approached by a drive bordered by rhododendrons, past our lochan full
of brown trout. Nestling by the water of secret Loch Awe, surrounded
by fields, hill and woods and framed by the impressive peaks
of the Argyll's and Ben Gruachem mountains.
Here peace and quiet means just that. We try to
make you feel special.
We may not have gold taps and
four-poster beds but we do give real value for money with guests returning time
after time for the comfortable, informal, happy atmosphere.
By spring 2006, one couple will have taken their 70th. holiday with us.
Rockhill also takes in guests on a dinner, bed and
breakfast basis in 3 delightful bedrooms with a wonderful relaxed atmosphere.
There are also two very comfortable self-catering units
with tremendous views over loch and mountains, just 150 yards from the waters
edge. Guests come and stay not only from this country
but from all over the
world, for as they say 'an unforgettable holiday'.
Rockhill is a 160 acre farm and Hanoverian Horse Stud on the south side of the loch
with 1200 metres of free trout fishing. Priest Island is within its boundaries.
Situated half a mile from the public road, Rockhill offers away from it all
atmosphere in a delightful setting, yet is easily accessible. A truly wonderful
area for walking, climbing, bird watching, fishing, boating, horse riding,
golfing, touring. Many boat trips, castles and gardens, or just taking it easy.
Nearby are Glencoe, Kintyre Peninsula, the Trossachs, Mull and lona. Loch Awe is
over 60 miles of unspoilt shoreline with sheltered bays, ruined castles and
enchanted islands.
Boats can be hired or bring your own . Any fish caught can be
cooked for your breakfast or frozen to take home. Clothes drying facilities
available if
staying in guesthouse. Water skiing, sailing can also be enjoyed. Cars can go
down to waters edge, with a safe bay for swimming. There is a good pub
with a restaurant and a games room at the top of
the drive.

Dogs. This is a dog lovers paradise
as well behaved dogs are most welcome but ALL animals must have up to date vaccination.
Regretfully we do not take children under 9 in the
guesthouse unless the whole house is booked by one family. However, children of
any age, are most welcome in the self catering accommodation.
Also we have a well established stud
farm breeding high quality competition Hanoverian horses.
